Get ready for a Fair Trade Oakland meeting!
Hey, Oakland! As we get Fair Trade Oakland up and running again, we’re looking for a lot of input and leadership from the community. After all, our campaign will be strongest if people from all walks of life are out promoting Fair Trade. For this reason, we’re planning to hold an open meeting at 6 p.m. on August 10 at the Ben and Jerry’s shop in Jack London Square. The meeting will be a great place to meet like-minded people and swap ideas, hear about Fair Trade and the Fair Trade Towns movement from speakers, network with retailers and other organizations, and learn about ways to get involved in this exciting campaign. Even before the meeting, there’s plenty that you can do to help us out!
Spread the word about the meeting to members of your neighborhood, workplace, religious congregation, or organization. Let them know that this is a great chance for them to take part in a movement that wants to hear their voices. If you want to learn about how to get your organization involved in Fair Trade Oakland, don’t hesitate to contact us at ftoakland@gmail.com.
If you want to take on a leadership role within Fair Trade Oakland or even just toss out a few ideas for the meeting or the movement, contact us! We’ll happily take all the help we can get.
Finally, spread the word about the upcoming meeting. You can find us on Facebook and Twitter, so start liking, linking, and tweeting away!
